Over the years Gearhead has gone through many changes as we continually try to create the perfect bike shop. One thing that's always stayed the same is our dedication to having a good time!

In the fall of 2006 we moved out of the Pedro Point shopping center and back to the warmer climates of the Park Mall at the base of Montara Mountain. We are now closer to the bulk of our customer base and have turned into quite the hangout for the local kids.
Parents are always amazed at how hard their kids will voluntarily work for dirt jumps when they can't even get them to pick up their room!
I opened Gearhead Bicyces in early 2003 a little less than a year after the last shop I worked at went belly up. Having spent many years wrenching on bikes at other shops and seeing the different ways customers were treated and stores were run, I felt that I could build a unique store that did things just a little differently from other shops. When my former boss offered to sell me the remains of his store for pennies on the dollar I called in some favors, bought him out and with the invaluable help of some very good friends opened my own store. The original concept was to sell only parts and service but it didn't take long to realise that Pacifica needed a full on bike shop. Having opened up on the tiniest of shoestring budgets it took a while to build up to carrying the full line of inventory that we now offer. We try our best to deal with companies that are also rider owned and operated, it's the right thing to do and it's also the best way to make sure that all products are the best you can possibly get for your hard earned buck.
